In response to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, Sun Garden Dubrovnik continuously follows the official data and the recommendations by the Croatian Public Health Institute, the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia and other relevant healthcare authorities involved in combating the COVID-19 outbreak.

In order to ensure a safe working environment for its employees and a pleasant and secure stay for all resort guests, Sun Gardens Dubrovnik has taken a number of precautionary measures to prevent the outburst and spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

On an ongoing basis the resort provides the highest quality of maintenance including additional procedures for cleaning and disinfection in line with global health care standards. The resort also appeals to the observance of sanitary and hygienic instructions towards employees and guests.


Up-to-date conditions of entry to the Republic of Croatia are published on the official website of the Ministry of Interior Affairs on This site contains frequently asked questions and answers regarding the conditions of entry into the Republic of Croatia considering the restrictions in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In order to shorten the procedure on border crossing points, nationals of certain countries as advised on the link above, are recommended to announce their visit by filling in the form on the following site Also, you will be given an information flyer with the recommendations and instructions provided by the Croatian Institute of Public Health. Travelers who do not submit their personal data in advance will be able to do it upon entering the country at border crossing. In that case it may require more time and passengers will probably be diverted to a separate lane.


The health and safety of our guests, employees and community remain our top priority, so you can feel safe from check-in to check-out. At Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, we strive to provide remarkable guest experiences, even in these challenging times.

However, to comply with the official guidelines some services and experiences will not be available or may be modified during the season depending on the safety and sanitary measures and recommendations from the Croatian Public Health Institute.

The following services and experiences may be suspended in 2021: Baby Club, Tween & Teen Club, Evening Children Programmes and Sun Gardens Children Sports Academy. Some amenities in the Spa Center may also be unavailable. Club Service may be modified. In-resort shopping options may be limited. The choice of available outdoor pools, restaurants and bars may also be adjusted. We will continue to communicate any adjustments to our operations or offerings as information becomes available.   • Guests are obliged to act responsibly and report without delay any symptoms or suspicion of infection to the Resort so that epidemiological services can be contacted accordingly
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water OR use an alcohol-based disinfectant
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your forearm or tissue paper while coughing and sneezing that you later discard into the trashcan and wash your hands
  • Avoid touching your face, mouth, nose and eyes
  • Avoid close contact with sick people who exhibit symptoms of fever, cough and / or shortness of breath
  • Avoid handshaking and close conversations - maintain social distancing at all times during your stay
  • As of Monday October 12, 2020 face masks are mandatory in all public indoor areas, as well as outdoors where close contact cannot be avoided (2-meter social distance). This includes restaurants and bars except when seated at the table and during eating/drinking, spa centre and sports centre. Face masks, fabric or single-use medical, must be worn properly so that it covers the mouth and nose. Masks should be disposed properly to ensure their effectiveness and to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

  • Monitoring of the employees’ body temperature by contactless thermometer every day upon their arrival to the hotel
  • Monitoring of the guests’ body temperature by contactless thermometer upon their check-in to the hotel
  • All employees in contact with guests or working in indoor public areas are required to wear protective masks and gloves


  • Online registration before arrival strongly recommended; guests will be advised by e-mail to register online following the fast check-in instructions available on
  • Ensured designated space 1,5 m of between guests at the reception during check-in by satellite desks and by signage and distance markers in place

  • Some amenities or features in the accommodation units will be removed in line with official guidelines (such as decorative pillows, magazines, etc.)All accommodation units are cleaned with the windows/doors opened to increase fresh air circulation
  • Daily housekeeping service during a guest’s stay may be modified to meet guest requirements
  • The use of personal protective equipment during room cleaning by housekeeping employees
  • Among high-standard cleaning services is in-house Laundry facility providing full control of laundry service with no third party involved
  • Resort emergency guidelines provided for a suspected case of COVID-19 infection in all accommodation units


  • Food and beverage services have been adjusted to the current safety recommendations
  • The implementation of enhanced food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Guests are kindly requested to wait to be seated and use hand disinfection
  • Table set-up is completed in front of guests after seating
  • Restaurant and Bar seating allocated for social distancing protection
  • Restaurants mainly provide a-la-carte service; where buffet service is available, there is a combination of partial self-service of prepared and covered dishes as well as service by chefs at the buffet stations
  • Buffet tables are disinfected after every service
  • Daily deep disinfection of hotel kitchen areas
  • Reservations are not mandatory at resort restaurants but strongly recommended
  • Use of restaurant terraces whenever possible
  • Food and Beverage facilities' ventilation is carried out as often as possible
  • Club Service will be modified: 2-hour break from 14:30 to 16:30 in the Club Lounge is designated for deep disinfection and cleaning; Club guests amenities upon arrival are modified – fresh fruit and flowers will not be availableAll food handlers and supervisors are trained in safe food preparation and service practices
  • Food and Beverage employees are required to conduct self-inspections using the company’s food safety standards as guidelines
  • Food and Beverage employees are required to wear masks and gloves


  • Placement of furniture in wellness / sport center / swimming pool / beach area rearranged to facilitate social gap protocols
  • Increased frequency of area cleaning and disinfection (massage rooms, workout machines, swimming pool handrails, spa & sun lounges, etc.);

  • Spa treatment reservations (phone bookings) are strongly recommended
  • Time allocated between treatments to ensure deep disinfection and cleaning
  • Gym bookings are compulsory to ensure a limited / approved number of gym users at the same time
  • 30 minutes in between gym sessions designated to ensure deep disinfection and cleaning
  • In some treatments the use of sanitary masks is compulsory for both guests and employees
  • Number of people using the pool at one time will be limited
  • Saunas and thermal zone will be unavailable
  • Pre-pool showering and feet sanitation are mandatory

  • Increased frequency of area cleaning and disinfection
  • Due to the limited number of spaces in the Kids Club, pre-booking is strongly recommended
  • Kids Club employees will greet and take over children at the entrance of the facility
  • Parents or babysitters bringing children to the Kids Club are not allowed to enter the facility
  • Upon arrival, children will be assisted to wash their hands


  • Ensured designated space of 1,5 m social distancing measure are followed during meeting room set-up and duration of the meetings
  • Signage in place to remind guests on social distancing protocols and precautionary protocols
  • Hand sanitizer stations installed at the entrance
  • Detailed hand washing instructions placed in all public restrooms
  • Food & drinks are recommended to be packed individually for each guest; in case of “standard” coffee-break, same measures and protocols are applied as for buffet style restaurant

Our partner Korkyra Travel Agency is currently operating tours only in destinations where governments have deemed it save to resume group activities. The guide will inform you of the latest government recommendations, and whether a mask is required, whether by government or the vendors.
