Active Holidays on the Adriatic

You need time to relax and time to be active, although the very idea of “active relaxation” might seem a contradiction in terms, it could be exactly what you need.

Recharge your body and mind from the stresses and strains of modern life, think active relaxation.

Dubrovnik has a long a tradition of being an ideal destination for health tourism. A combination of a Mediterranean climate, with warm summer days and mild winters, a high quality of cuisine using locally grown produce and a relaxed pace of life has made Dubrovnik a magnet for people looking to recuperate. Not forgetting the abundance of natural springs that provide the region with a quality of water that many countries can only envy.

And at the Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, situated on the shores of the Adriatic Sea and amongst a lush countryside, we are proud of our extensive recreation facilities at our Sport’s Centre. The ideal location to practice “active relaxation.” A well equipped gym, wall climbing, squash, badminton, tennis, football pitches and a sports bar, our sport’s centre has something for everyone.

So how can you have an active, yet relaxing, break in Dubrovnik? In these modern times making time for you is complicated. Work obligations, family, travel and the rush of daily life means finding time to dedicate to your wellbeing is harder than ever before. With an active relaxation process you can solve these problems, as there is no need to set aside too much time.

Here is how you can release the muscle tension in your face and neck in five minutes; squint your eyes and wrinkle your nose, pull your lips in, open your mouth as wide as you can and raise your eyebrows as high as you can. Hold all of these positions individually for five seconds and you’ll see the difference. It might seem a little odd to colleagues at work as you pull faces so if you can do this whilst lounging around a pool in the Adriatic…even better.

Looking to release the tension in your arms and shoulders, follow this simple guide; make fists with both hands, squeeze your arms into your sides and finally raise your shoulders to your ears. Again maybe a tad weird for your fellow passengers on the train to observe, but on the beach in Dubrovnik in front of a five-star resort…now that’s a different story.

Enjoy an active and relaxing holiday in Dubrovnik, you deserve it!
