Autumn - a second summer in Dubrovnik

With autumn approaching and the summer season winding down, now is the time to relax and make the most of your visit to Dubrovnik.

Summer is the busiest season in Dubrovnik when temperatures are at their peak and the city is brimming with visitors. Although coming in the summer is the most popular option, you should think about it. With autumn approaching and the summer season winding down, now is the time to relax and make the most of your visit to Dubrovnik. Although the city is charming all year, summer is incredibly popular, making it difficult to explore and appreciate thoroughly.

The greatest time to visit Dubrovnik and meet its citizens is during the off-season, such as spring or autumn when you will encounter residents on your way to explore and have the opportunity to speak with them. Not to add that you can easily wander around the main street Stradun, tour the Old Town, or discover other Dubrovnik neighbourhoods. Another reason to pick September or October is the weather: temperatures will be much more comfortable than in July or August, with lots of sun and the water still warm enough to swim, ideal if you want to get your dose of sunshine and vitamin sea.

When it comes to culture and entertainment, you'll also have plenty to do. One of the events is the Festival of Lights LUMIART taking place September 24 & 25 bringing light creations through 3D mapping of the entire space. Music, lights and a beautiful ambience will bring together interactive and unique experiences.

Dubrovnik Good Food Festival runs from October 10th to the 16th and is not to be missed! This festival is popular among locals due to culinary specialities displays, educational programs for children, wine tastings, culinary workshops, events such as "Dinner with a famous chef," and other surprises.

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra is well-known for preserving the rich history and tradition of Dubrovnik and Croatia, and its concerts are great for music enthusiasts. The Late Summer Festival runs until September 23rd and includes symphony and chamber concerts, recitals, world premieres, and collaborations with well-known soloists and conductors.

Sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in the 2022 Dubrovnik Triathlon Event from October 13th to 16th. EARTH, SEA, AND FIRE is a multi-lap competition with individual racers and relay teams competing in super sprint, sprint, and Olympic distances. Participants will be able to attend the welcoming party and celebrate after the triathlon at Banje beach.

If you would like to visit Dubrovnik but skip the busiest time of year and high temperatures, the autumn season is ideal for you.
