The connection between Sun Gardens Dubrovnik and art has been woven into the resort’s story since its opening in 2009. Architects Branimir Medić and Pero Puljiz had a vision to design a simple yet profound space that displays a warm and personal atmosphere while embracing the breath-taking views s of the Adriatic Sea and the Elaphite Islands.
Authentic materials, equipment, and decorations are woven into every detail of the resort, while carefully selected colours and materials echo the beauty of its coastal setting. Every piece of artwork inside the hotel was created by Croatian authors such as Boris Bučan, Goran Štimac, and Peruško Bogdaić, creating a remarkable collection that captures guests’ attention.
Over the centuries, a variety of local and foreign painters have captured the charm of Dubrovnik. Vibrant, colorful, and individualistic, the artists of Dubrovnik always wanted to capture the essence of the city.
We chose to celebrate the love of the arts this year in our resort Magazine by featuring an exclusive interview with Viktor Šerbu, a painter from Dubrovnik whose work has been capturing the essence of the city for decades. A well-known figure in the contemporary Croatian art scene, and one of the oldest living Croatian academic painters, Šerbu’s works most often represent Dubrovnik, offering fresh perspectives on familiar motifs.
This September, we continued our celebration of the arts by bringing them closer to our guests - highlighting creativity, authentic culture, and the beauty of expression. Through local stories and artists, we aim not only to support our community but also to create unique experiences where art, gastronomy, and relaxation come together.
Whether you are an art connoisseur or simply someone who appreciates beauty in all its forms, we warmly invite you to discover our specially curated programme during your stay.
